Thomas “Jake” Close

Jake Close serves as Vice President of Close Construction Services, LLC, bringing more than six years of civil engineering and construction experience with a strong focus on regulatory compliance, stormwater management, and coastal resiliency. Jake holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Florida, is a licensed Professional Engineer, and maintains a Florida Building Contractor’s License.

Jake began his career in civil engineering in 2019, gaining technical experience in stormwater design, infrastructure improvements, and site development. He joined Close Construction Services as a Project Manager, working under the mentorship of his father, company founder Chris Close. This hands-on experience provided him with a deep understanding of project management, field operations, and the importance of quality, communication, and safety in public-sector construction.

Under Jake’s leadership, Close Construction Services has successfully delivered a wide range of municipal and public-sector projects, including building renovations, site development, drainage and stormwater improvements, roofing and waterproofing, hardscape and landscaping installations, HVAC and electrical upgrades, and ADA accessibility enhancements. He has also overseen projects involving dewatering systems, riprap and sheet pile installation, bypass pumping, and the construction of concrete caps and headwalls.

Jake’s approach to leadership blends technical engineering expertise with environmental awareness and a commitment to sustainable, high-quality construction. His background in coastal resiliency and infrastructure design uniquely positions him to manage complex municipal projects that balance functionality, durability, and long-term community benefit.
